Minimal wait time to pick up the car/An unsolicited car upgrade/No problems with the car during our stay/Easy and friendly drop-off/Shuttle was waiting for us to the airport. I do my research beforehand, and for now the second time, Midway has proven to be an excellent value, and has exceeded my expectations. Daniel at the check-in desk was exceptional-friendly, patient and professional. Definitely use these folks!!

We rented through carrentals.com with scheduled pick up on 11/2; our flight arrived at LAX at 4pm and we had requested pickup for 5pm at Midway via carrentals.com web site. When we got to Midway, they didn't have our car, they said our reservation expired at noon and was extended to 3pm(?); we asked for 5pm pickup time. They wanted us to wait 1 to 3 hours to see if an economy car would be returned (to match our reservation); my wife was at the airport waiting, so I called my wife and the young Spanish lady behind the desk would not use my phone (against their policy she said?), then we put my wife on speaker phone/mode then she would talk out loud; my wife insisted to speak to the supervisor and he had NO issues with using my phone (a Spanish man); I ask the Spanish lady why he can use my phone and she said the supervisor is allowed to use customers' phones (really? Sounds like a lie to me). The bottom line is that I decided to rent from another car company since I wasted close to 3 hours dealing with Midway and they didn't have an economy car for me, they wanted me to upgrade and pay more - I refused since THEY messed up my rental agreement with NO car available for the agreed upon reservation/price via carrentals.com. All other car rental companies honor reservations/cars for 24 hours, this Midway location (near LAX) lied and said that they can only extend our reservation for 2 or 3 hours (beyond the noon expiration time) when we found out later that Midway's TRUE policy is to honor reservations for up to 24 hours - this experience was TERRIBLE for us since we wasted 4+ hours of our vacation time just to get a rental car; 3 hours at Midway with NO car, then we rented with another company instead. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND MIDWAY NOR carrentals.com if this is how you manage car rental agreements for your customers.

New cars, friendly serice. About 1/2 mile from LAX, with regular shuttle service. Note: even though close to the airport, because of traffic and depending on the terminal, allow 20 minutes or so for the trip.
