We took a $60 cab ride from theNew Orleans airport to the offsite Hertz rental place (which was not made clear when I made the arrangements - it was 25 miles away!) only to be told that they had no car for us. Yes, they saw the reservation, but they were fresh out. No efforts to help us were made by the Hertz agent, who told us this was all between us and Car Rentals. No offer to pay for the cab or get a us a ride back to the airport, no willingness to assist with the refund (we PREPAID for the car!). Disappointing doesn't even begin to describe our feelings at that time. This is on Tues before Thanksgiving. We found an Enterprise rental 1/4 mile away and they were great. I had to call Car Rentals, because I had a new credit card, they told to call Hertz myself only to have Hertz say they can't refund me since I never presented a credit card (because there was no car to rent) and back to Car Rentals, who assured me they would refund the money, we'll see. They needed 5-7 days to process it. I am not hopeful at this point. Too much hassle to save a few bucks.

This company arranged a rental through Hertz at a location which was closed at the time I was to pick up the car. After returning to the airport to try and transfer the booking to the Hertz desk at the there, I was told Hertz would not honor the booking because it was arranged through CarRentals.com. I had to pay for a new booking and CarRentals.com refused to refund my original charge. This company clearly is more concerned with a few dollars than keeping customers happy and loyal. I will never use CarRentals.com again and would advise anyone else considering this company to do the same.

I paid over $100 extra in uber charges to get to the vehicle due to the car not being in the place that I was promised. I asked for an airport car rental but had to uber 25 miles away for both pick-up and drop-off. Huge inconvenience and a horrible way to start and end a vacation. The people at Hertz were very nice and said they've heard this about CarRentals.com many times. It's a scam and it's done on purpose. No phone number, really? Just email us, once you read through all the small print and we'll call you back... that's convenient while you're carrying all your luggage, trying to find a ride last minute and need answers about why your rental isn't ready and in the location you booked for. I'll never use your service again and I'll post to every review site that I can to get the word out. I wish I'd read some of them before booking with you, because I'm obviously not the first one you've scammed in this way.
