My flight was late and then ended up standing in line for 45 minutes. At that point, the lady tells me my 'time has expired' and I lost my rental. The only way they would give me a car was if I paid twice the original amount. She also tried forcing the e toll thing and gas. We drove over 400 miles and didn't encounter 1 toll on the roads she said were tolled. Will never use them again.

Nice car, worked well, no problems with it during rental and no problems on return. When I picked it up, however, the guy at the rental counter really pushed me to get a toll road pass. I said I was sure I would not need it. He asked me where I was going I told him and he said I would be tolled and charged. I still did not get it. When I looked into it later to be sure (after going way out of my way to avoid a possible toll) I found that he was referring to the OPTIONAL toll lanes/HOV lanes on I-15. I was driving alone, and had no intention of using those lanes for the short distances I was going. He also pushed me very hard, and I heard others at the counter pushing other customers very hard, on the loss-damage waiver insurance (Which I also declined, my credit card was chosen to cover the gaps my car insurance does not take care of). The loss-damage waiver push was nonexistent at my next stop in California where I used a different rental agency. Perhaps this is just the San Diego counter, so I would warn people away from that site but not the company as a whole. The bad experience at the counter stayed on my mind every time I was driving that car. I really liked how they took detailed photos of all damage to the car at pickup with me accompanying them as a way to document existing damage.
