Great experience with the customer service agent who assisted me when the car was rented.

My experience with Sixt at the Miami airport was awful. I stood in line for 1 hour, then the car I requested was not available, a Jeep Wrangler. They gave it away to someone else because I didn’t pre-pay. The equivalent car offered was a Toyota Camry which was unacceptable. I then requested a Ford Mustang and received that car. However, after driving away, multiple dashboard warnings (Steering fluid, check oil) appeared plus a 911 alert kept going off on the radio screen. We drove up to the next nearest Sixt (at Coral Gables) and requested a Jeep Wrangler and they did not have one. The manager said to go back to the airport as they had a better inventory and to mention that manager as a reference. When I turned in the car back at the airport, the receiving employee confirmed the dashboard warnings. I had to go back into the airport and there was another hour wait so I gave up and had a WONDERFUL experience with Alamo Rental. After driving off with my Alamo rental car, I called the Sixt customer service number and waited on hold for 15 mins, but hung up as I was trying to start my vacation. I checked my credit card transactions and was charged $173 for the 1 hour I had the car. The automated message said for faster service to go online which I did and sent 2 messages for a call back. Today is the first business day and I just called and all supervisors are busy and will call me back. Whether I get the refund or not, I will never do business with Sixt or refer friends to Sixt.
