We made a reservation to pick up this rental at 1:00 AM on 3/4. Our flight was delayed offloading b/c of police presence, and when we finally made it onto the shuttle, the shuttle driver called ahead and spoke with a person at the rental counter to let them know that we, & another group, were on the shuttle on our way, to please wait. When we arrived at the counter at 1:15, it was closed (we passed someone on our way in, on her way out, who was presumably the counter agent). We were stranded there with no rental car, even though the shuttle driver was told by the counter agent she would wait. Thankfully, the security guard was able to convince the Hertz counter agent to stay open, & they were able to provide us with a car... at an additional $120 cost. Absolutely disgusted with your Oakland counter customer service. Why do you allow a 1:00 reservation to be made, when the counter closes promptly at that time? And for the agent to say she will wait, & then to walk out, past us as we walk in. To strand travelers, & leave them at the mercy of another business, who thankfully has better customer service, but at an additional out of pocket cost, more than 30% more? Guess we should have read the reviews, but it clearly isn't a concern of the company... Nothing better than taking a late night flight, getting in in the middle of the night & then dealing with the sh*tshow that is this rental car agency.

Quick and effective: Got my car with no issues. And the rates affordable. My car had no issues.
