On the windshield, a small stone impact could be seen under the windscreen wiper when returning. Hardly visible with the naked eye and certainly not on a photo. Upon receipt, the car was thoroughly inspected with 2 people, even under the car, but apparently not under the windscreen wiper. I immediately had to pay 608 euros with the threat of 40% surcharge with a later payment. Guilt question is always difficult of course, but I have not had a crush and the car was parked 2 nights in front of the hotel in Reykjavic. 608 euros is of course way too much for gluing a small stone impact. Even a complete replacement of the windshield of the class A car costs no more than 400 euros. No info about actual repair costs and reimbursement of the extra reservation of another 300 euros on my credit card. I probably just lost money. I am not yet assuming malicious intent at Sixt, but I am therefore the victim of arbitrary quality of vehicle inspection. Teller now stands at 980 euros for 2 days a class A car. Next time but with a taxi I think.
