The Hertz Barcelona representative could not or did not want to provide me with what i had reserved originally via internet ( I had a car reservation for 9 days with average price of 134 USD , Opel Corsa or equivalent car, manual transmission, however the Hertz reprezentative told me there was no such car available and gave me as he sad a brand new car with automatic transmission and built-in GPS (he did not mention the car had GPS and attempted to sell a GPS device to me). Then he went on trying to sell their super insurance coverage worth if 560 EUR, which i had declined. Eventually I had spent more money that I planned and got not what had expected.

You'll have to roll out of bed early if you're hoping to see all the interesting sights this place has to offer. Gran Teatre del Liceu and La Rambla are non-negotiable. Barcelona Cathedral and Placa de Catalunya shouldn't be missed either.

Plan a stop at Film Archive of Catalonia. It's one sight you'll find on most travelers' to-do lists. If you still have space on that schedule, Sala Fenix and Rambla del Raval will keep you amused, too.
