We needed to rent a spacious car to transport some items from our father who recently died, so we thought we booked such a car with this company. When we arrived at the counter, we were told that the car was not available. The person at the counter tried to give us a small BMW, saying that it was equivalent (even an upgrade) due to its value. We didn't care about the value of the car, but its practicality. Eventually after much discourse we were given a slightly larger Audi, which did not still have enough space. Secondly, we had booked the car in my name, not thinking it was a problem that my husband would be the driver. We were forced to pay about $10 more per day to add my husband as an additional driver, even though I wasn't going to drive at all. The lack of flexibility was irritating. If we booked a car with my name online, why couldn't we just switch the name to my husband's once we went in person to finish completing the paperwork at the counter? The car was already booked, so what was the difference? The company was taking advantage of some picky internal rules to charge us more money.

Scam after scam. Would not let us rent the car without additional coverage. Other companies did not have the car type we needed, so we did not have a choice. We provided proof for our already existing coverage. During drop off I was very glad I had taken pictures, as Sixt tried to put anything on us. Car was not cleaned with many dents and scratches.

Excellent customer service and wonderful car, but I waited almost an hour to get to the counter.
