This opinion is valid for SIXT, but especially for AUTOESCAPE, so the services have greatly disappointed us: we will not leave with Autoescape anymore! It turns out that the French debit card (the French CB are not credit cards) is a problem to take over a vehicle in Costa Rica, as a priori often in America ... The problem is that this point is not sufficiently highlighted at the time of booking. We can therefore take care of the vehicle with a debit card, only if we take the total risk insurance offered by the renter! Except ALL French are therefore obliged to take it, because no one has ever CREDIT card. This would not be problematic, if this point was emphasized enough, and therefore Autoescape did not offer insurance on its site for the Costa Rican renter! Indeed, we have paid twice for insurance: once at Autoescape, which allows itself to offer it anyway, although they know full well that it will be useless once on site, and a second time at Sixt, just to take the reserved vehicle. We paid more than 300 euros extra on the spot! The owner on site was very patient, and tried to help us, but lost time: Autoescape is unreachable out of office hours, which is a shame! If we have a problem abroad, with jet lag, we can never join them ?! So they are NOT used by anything abroad: to flee for a trip outside Europe! Regarding SIXT itself: no communication at the airport, we had to ask people, with the language barrier we struggled to find the shuttle to go to the landlord, it was not terrible ... Then wait on the spot, because everyone arrives by the shuttle at the same time, so if you go down last, well you wait ... For the return, not terrible either: we must go to the counter again, no specific service to make the vehicle, so you must be lucky and not arrive at the same time as the shuttle! After the rented vehicle was very good, they nosu gave the range above, a 4x4 comfort that climbs very well the odds! And in the end, considering the state of the roads, taking all risks insurance seems an excellent idea! ...
