The agent was pushing hard to sell up graded car, insurance,GPS, etc. I purchased insurance through car rentals.com and the agent said in the event of an accident I would have to stay in country until everything was settled or pay out of pocket. The GPS rental was almost as much as the car.

When arriving at Alamo in Costa Rica, we discovered that the insurance sold by car rentals is not valid for the rentals! We ended up paying twice the indicated price that car rentals had advertised !!! The pick up was fine. The car in the premium category did not even had the automatic air conditioning, or rear detector, no gps.... Drop-off be aware that you need to take a shuttle and if you get in at the wrong time you may need to wait because not every one can fit in.

The courtesy and efficiency provided by your people in Costa Rica was excellent. Everyone was very professional, friendly and tried to help. Unfortunately we did have one major issue that required us to rent another vehicle for our travels back to San Jose to return home. When we rented the SUV for our trip to Costa Rica we were under the impression we were getting a vehicle that could accommodate 7 passengers and luggage for 6. The vehicle we got could hold 7 passengers but it barely had room for one person’s luggage. Obviously this was a major issue. I do understand through your manager at the San Jose location that the vehicle we ordered was in fact the right vehicle, unfortunately this was not correctly identified when we placed our reservation for this trip. In fact we had called to confirm that the vehicle could hold baggage for six people. Had I been provided the correct information at the time of the reservation, I would have reserved a larger vehicle (van with room for our luggage). In addition, it was a very busy week due to college spring breaks and even getting another vehicle was not an option on the front end of our trip. Fortunately my son, who lives in San Jose, was able to borrow a vehicle for 2 days to get us to Arenal. We were able to rent another vehicle for our return trip back to San Jose. We did use carrentals.com to reserve our vehicle with Alamo. We did request and received a discount on the 2nd vehicle we had to rent. Thank you

Hospitality and transfer from the airport very well, the agency staff very friendly. The car a Mitsubishi Montero 7 seater was I think breathless with 100000 km on the clock and had the bodywork in poor condition. indeed she was scratched on all sides with little shots everywhere; The advantage is that the return of the vehicle we do not bother. even the person who received the car died of laughter when he went around. Otherwise it rolled well it was necessary to predict overtaking and anticipate the odds.

Hello, for the first time bad experience with pay less. Additional costs to pick up the vehicle and return. Not huge ($ 24 in all) but not ok. In addition to the restitution in front of my wrath, they took directly on my credit card. Not very commercial. Regards Ps I am at your disposal for the copy of additional taxes required by pay less
