Discover the delights of nearby Celaya. What’s 30 miles when you’ve got a set of wheels? The drive itself is half the fun! Miguel Aleman Valdes Stadium, Galerias Celaya Mall and Alameda Park alone make the drive out worthwhile. Locals will also likely point you toward Dolores Hidalgo, 50 miles away. If you can only find time for one attraction here, make sure it’s Cuna de Tierra Vineyard. (But we’d also highly recommend Cuna de Tierra Winery and José Alfredo Jiménez Museum.)

Hang out with some locals while you’re in Queretaro by heading to an event at one of the area’s top convention centers. There are a few fantastic things on, so have a look at the schedule and write down a date. Recommended places include:

• Queretaro Convention Center (3 miles away).
• EcoCentro Exposition Center (4 miles away).

A rental car will help you travel from A to B easily in Queretaro. If you’re traveling on a shoestring and want to stretch your budget, a mini or a compact is a great idea. These smaller cars are affordable to run and a cinch to park. If you have the kids in tow, a full-size car will give you enough space to stretch your legs.

While motoring around the streets of Queretaro, keep in mind that the speed limits typically range from 15mph to 110km/h. Most residential zones are 30km/h unless posted otherwise.
