The car rental at Hertz was fantastic. Their customer service was great and the pickup and dropoff were super easy and convenient. The one hiccup in the rental car process was, although the pickup said Denver Airport, the Hertz that we actually had to pickup from was 30 minutes into Denver from the airport. This made for a confusing pickup at first, but once we got to the location it was a breeze.

I'm experiencing such neglect, disrespect and discomfort from Hertz Colfax location in Denver. It started upon pick up when I specifically asked Max when the car was last serviced because I was driving across the country and back; this allowed peace of mind as I drove. Max brushed off my questions saying the car only had 5000 miles on it and it would be fine. During my return trip, I heard a ding promting me to review the statistics of the car (tire pressure etc) to which I discovered the car was notifying me of the 5% oil in the vehicle. Considering it was around 11p somewhere in rural Illinois I called the roadside aid in my rental agreement. They advised me to retain my receipts for a refund for the oil I needed to put in the car. I do so and keep the receipts. I returned the car that Thursday along with the receipts for refund. The gentleman makes copies and informs me that the manager Max would need to process the refund when he returns into the office. Days go by and I notice the drop off of the deposit but not the refund. So I call to check and spoke with Max who proceeded to mishandle and misrepresent the company that he works for. I began the call by explaining the situation in full. To which he answers about the drop of the deposit. I let him know that I was aware of the drop fee and that I was calling about the oil I had to purchase during my trip. Then he continues to explain the deposit fee drop as if I hadn't mentioned that refund for the oil. He stated that the card on file was prepaid and that he couldn't access it for a refund. I explained I paid for the reservation with a credit card and used a different debit card for the deposit and this is the one they had on file (presumably to be used for a refund). Max proceeded to repeatedly cut me off to explain again the deposit fee drop as if I hadn't just spend time clearly explaining my situation. His rudeness escalated to him saying why would I approve that a refund for that? Did you call the branch to see if you needed oil? Why on earth would I call a closed branch when I'm on the verge of breaking down somewhere in Illinois?? I tried to explain that to him and again he cut me off to say I needed to speak to billing. Max was also very confused as to why I would call roadside even after I repeatedly explained the car notified me that it had 5% oil left. I filed a claim with roadside and even when I mentioned that to Max he began talking over me. I have never been so dismissed, misunderstood and received such embarrassingly poor service. Considering how much money was spent, its completley uncalled for (in all situations) to have Max act that why. I reached out to Hertz to no avail.

This was the easiest, fastest, friendliest, and most affordable car rental I've ever experienced.
