We chose a Ford Max: we were a couple with two children and 3 suitcases. We were given a Fiat 500! By telling us that it was the same category and that it was that or nothing. Great to travel 3 weeks with a suitcase at the feet of passengers! And we waited more than 1:30 to pick up the car at the airport. Car delivery full of scratches and bumps not reported on the border.

This review is for Dollar cars. This appears to be a subset for Thrifty and Hertz but this is not indicated anywhere. When returning the car, the correct parking space was therefore not to be found, which costs extra time and frustration. I indicated that this should be better, but the locals were not sensitive to that. The worst thing, however, is the fact that you cannot pick up your car at the Florence airport terminal, but with a minibus to a deserted parking lot a ten-minute drive from the airport must be brought and picked up. That gives a long queue for both collection and delivery in summer time, which costs you half an hour extra. Let more vans drive there! Note: this applies to * all * car companies there; it does not matter whether you take an expensive or cheap provider. Also, the car park "car return" is poorly marked, so you have to search long before you have found it if you want to return your car. The car itself was fine for the price paid, for the main season.
