Enjoyed the experience with Hertz and carrental.com. Only one person working the counter. She was great but because it was a one man show, the whole process took way to long from start to finish. Line was 7 people deep when I returned the car @ 8AM. That’s a problem when trying to catch a plane.

The Hertz office is right across from the terminal. Pick up took less than 10 minutes, same for return. They upgraded us to a really nice Subaru so that was also a plus

From pickup to leaving the parking garage, I was happy with service. I made the reservation using www.carrentals.com. Was not expecting a new or newer model vehicle, but I am happy that I chose Hertz. Received excellent customer service initially. No concerns until 24 hours later, when I tried contacting the Tucson Hertz desk with a question. Called at least 10 times between 9am and 5pm CST. Finally had someone to pickup on the last try, but they were not able to assist.Other than that, I was thoroughly satisfied with my rental, with the rate, and with the online experience.

Nice vehicle (Hyundai Elantra), however it had a slight left pull, and a serious out of balance wheel which was bad at highway speeds (the bulk of our travel).

Overall my experience was great. Only problem was that I called the agent twice and told them that I was going to be later than expected to pick up the car. He told that it was “not going to be any problem “. I gave him my reservation # the second time and he told all is good. However when I did get there at three which he had told me as long as it’s before 5 they close at 6. He said that he was unable to rent me a car at that price because it was to late. He said I should step out side off the building and make a new reservation and come back in. I did just that I was able to get the same rate and I got a car. Why he would not do the same thing for me I do not understand. Their was no one else there except his co-worker. Who was not in a happy mood either. Great car. Nissan maxima

This is is small outlier Hertz rental counter inside a busy car repair center in Green Valley, AZ. We rented six months in advance, but in spite of an early reservation, there was no car available for a day or two due to big events in Tucson. Thankfully, the young woman in charge of this area, named Ashley, is phenomenal! Not only is she calm and capable, but really cares about the renters and went out of her way for us. We had to switch cars in the middle of a rental due to a broken windshield, and she handled the claim and paperwork for us almost completely. She needs to run her own franchise--she is that good!

The supplier in Green Valley documented my rental wrong, leaving me with an $800 insurance bill, when I had specifically stated (and showed them the printout) that I had already purchased insurance from a carrental.com supplier. At the time of this particular one-way rental, when I asked about what looked to be a double charge, I was told by their Ashley that my charge was doubled due to Hertz putting that amount on hold as a deposit, such charge (as a deposit) to be taken off when I returned the car. This did not happen. Now, they deny saying such a thing . . . . this is a retirement community and I am a retiree. I wonder how many other retirees have been affected by their business practices. On the other hand, the Hertz representative in Chicago was nothing less than outstanding.

You will need to carry with you credit card, as well as your driver's license.

What's Tucson's minimum age to rent a car?

Is insurance required when you rent a car in the United States?

In the United States you do need to have insurance before you rent from Hertz. Many of the major credit cards (American Express, Visa, MasterCard and Discover) typically provide some coverage. At CarRentals.com, we recommend a full tank policy. You receive the car with the needle at "F". For a cheaper rate, it is best to fill up your tank before you return the car to Hertz.
