This is is small outlier Hertz rental counter inside a busy car repair center in Green Valley, AZ. We rented six months in advance, but in spite of an early reservation, there was no car available for a day or two due to big events in Tucson. Thankfully, the young woman in charge of this area, named Ashley, is phenomenal! Not only is she calm and capable, but really cares about the renters and went out of her way for us. We had to switch cars in the middle of a rental due to a broken windshield, and she handled the claim and paperwork for us almost completely. She needs to run her own franchise--she is that good!

The supplier in Green Valley documented my rental wrong, leaving me with an $800 insurance bill, when I had specifically stated (and showed them the printout) that I had already purchased insurance from a carrental.com supplier. At the time of this particular one-way rental, when I asked about what looked to be a double charge, I was told by their Ashley that my charge was doubled due to Hertz putting that amount on hold as a deposit, such charge (as a deposit) to be taken off when I returned the car. This did not happen. Now, they deny saying such a thing . . . . this is a retirement community and I am a retiree. I wonder how many other retirees have been affected by their business practices. On the other hand, the Hertz representative in Chicago was nothing less than outstanding.
