Due to a changed flight, I was half a day early at the counter. I had to wait around 20 minutes in line. The staff at the counter was flexible: for an additional charge (1 day Hertz price) I was provided a car in the booked category. Needless to say, he tried to give me an expensive upgrade for the entire booking period. The parking lot was typical Hertz close to the terminal. The different staff were friendly, if not outstanding. The car was clean and impeccable; existing major damages were documented. The car even had a (not booked) sat nav. Levy went fast and smooth.

Hertz advertised a car they didn’t even have in stock - as in the car was not owned by them at all, not just unavailable at that time. That was the start. There was a chip on the windscreen when returning the car, I showed the guy who worked there the pictures taken of this before we took the car away. He told me all I had to do was send the picture in when they emailed me. An email never arrived until a month later and instead of being able to reply it simply told me I was being charged (an unknown amount) and that I can see the bill the following day... so I’m still waiting to find out how much my personal card has been charged, for a tiny crack on the windscreen, which was already there when we picked the car up. Criminals.
