The counter person with Avis in Richmond did a good job. Quickly processed information. When I got to the garage it was a little chaotic. Seemed to be several unhappy customers waiting. There were 5 people in the small office area which was shared with Budget, and only a few guys that appeared to be hustling to get vehicles brought in. When I did get my key to the vehicle, I was surprised not to have anyone walk around the car with me. I made note of a small ding in the driver door, just in case it was mentioned at the return. The vehicle was a Ford Explorer and was full of fuel and in perfect condition. It drove great. It was given to me dirty, inside and out. I only had it a few days so I didn't really worry about it. It didn't give me a good impression of Avis though. Upon return I was greeted by a man who quickly checked the vehicle in and gave me a final receipt. It couldn't have been smoother.

I reserved an intermediate car and was given a compact/economy, was basically told that's the way it is and was then charged almost a day's rate for bringing it back 40 minutes later than scheduled.

I made a reservation online to pick up at 3:30. I got there car wasn’t available. They gave me a car I didn’t want. I had to wait for hours to be given a different car. I got to the drop off location and got charged double price. A price different from what I had on the reservation even though they promised me I can have the car for the same price on my reservation. I called customer service and they told me to pay and the ll make a refund in five business days. It’s a terrible experience ever. I have regretted .
