Upon arrival at the Alamo rental car desk, I was informed that there were no “Intermediate” cars available per my reservation. I had no choice but to “upgrade” to a higher level, which was double the quoted reservation price. Once I was at the pickup counter, I was assigned a Volkswagen Vento (which is an Intermedite rated car), but I had to pay double the price. I would definitely not recommend Alamo Car Rentals in Mexico - stick with Hertz! I’ve had much better service from Hertz Mexico and I will go back to using them next time!

I rented the cheapest car available from Payless and got an SUV. Pick-up and drop-off were quick.

When I went to check it was an easy process. When I got to the car it was covered with dents and scrapes (with white marks to show that it was pre-damaged before pick up) The interior of the car was soiled and dirty. I didn't have time to go back and ask for a car exchange and truthfully the other cars that I saw were in the same condition. I most likely will never use this company again...even as a last resort. Usually rental car companies have their best cars but if this is what the company considers their best it is not a company I wish to do business with.
