Our experience with collecting the car was very poor. We always rent our car from reputable parties. That is why we chose Alamo / Enterprise for our rental car in Bologna. Upon arrival at Bologna Airport we were faced with the unpleasant surprise that Alamo / Enterprise has outsourced the rental in Italy to a local partner named LocAuto. The staff at LocAuto was very unfriendly and curt. After we had waived the extra insurance, because we had already taken out the premium package through cardelmar, the desk employee tried to have us sign for the claim form before we had seen the car. After long staggering we were allowed to take the form to the car to sign it there after checking. When we arrived at the car, another employee tried to get us signed again without the chance of checking the damage to the car. After we had walked around the car and found additional damage, the employee did not want to include this on the form. He walked away and would consult. After waiting more than 10 minutes at the car, a Europcar employee had to intervene (because Locauto had parked the rental car in front of her parking places). Then a new Locauto employee came with a lot of fuss and grumbles, who intimidatingly tried to get us signed without the extra damage being recorded on the form. In the end, the damage was recorded, but we were totally busy for over an hour and were very unfriendly and at times even intimidatingly approached by the locauto staff. The return was fortunately smoother. Even then, the staff were again very curt and unfriendly. The car itself was in reasonable condition, but needs some maintenance. In addition, the car was particularly dirty on the outside when picking up.
