Unclear regarding insurance purchased through booking agents regarding if it covered or not, also not the most pleasant reception from the staff. This lead to being on the safe side and purchasing an extra insurance that made the whole process and price being unsatisfactory.

My experience with this provider was very good, although we had to queue almost 1 hour but apparently it was due to our arrival date (January 02 at 11am). The staff was very pleasant and professional. We were fortunate to have a new vehicle with very few kilometers on the clock.

I am very disappointed in the service of Hertz Cape Town.
Despite indicating I had taken full excess insurance coverage through CarRentals, the service person proceeded to do a very hard sell on their excess insurance by emphasising the risks in having the full cost of car replacement for theft or accidental damage charged directly to me while I claimed the refunds from the CarRentals Excess insurer. I also have Car Excess insurance cover in my travel insurance policy.
Despite being told that I had full excess cover and insurance, I noted on my final rental invoice that it did not provide cover for tyre or glass damage.
If this rental had occurred in Australia, I would be submitting a complaint to the Consumer Affairs Bureau which is currently monitoring rental car insurance issues very closely.
Overall a distasteful affair I will not repeat.
