I called ahead of time to make sure the car was ready for me. It was not. In fact, the car wasnt even there. I was told it would be there an hour after my reservation time. I was then rented a car with expired tags. I found this out when I was pulled over by a CHP officer and was issued a warning to not drive the vehicle. The engine light on the car came on that read, 'Check engine. After parking the vehicle, I received a parking ticket. I had the car towed back to a Herz office. When I contacted the local office I rented from and asked for a manager, the person I was speaking to was acting strangely, saying I could speak with a manager, and then just staying on the line. I asked if he was a manager, and he just said his name. I asked again if I could speak with a manager, and then he said yes again. And then i would ask if he is a manger, and he would say 'This is Herz. It was like he was playing some sort of game. He then hung up, and hung up on me each of the next three calls I made. I called the corporate office. The person I spoke with assured me I would receive a call back from someone within two business days. 6 days later, I still had not received a call back. When I called the corporate office again, I had to explain the entire situation again, was transferred three times, and then was told no manager was available and that I would receive a call back. Again, no call back. I called the local office once more and finally received a manager there. He told me he would call back. Once again, I received no phone call.
