We reserved a compact car for the best possible fuel economy, which is important to us not only for the cost savings but because it's best for the environment. The Toyota Corolla we got at first would have been fine, but it had no license plates and the temporary (30-day) registration on the windshield had expired almost a month before our pickup date. Evidently, we were the first people to notice this. When we went back to the desk to report it, we were given the only other car available, a gas-guzzling Dodge Charger. We were told this was a free upgrade, but to us, it was the opposite. A Prius would have been an upgrade. I wish all car-rental companies would recognize that to many of us, bigger, faster, and more powerful is not better.

I had never driven a car with a push button starter. Car which we ordered wasn't there. We waited 45 min. and couldn't drive the car except to very easy destinations like a grocery store. Our son had to come there to drive us in busy traffic. He was there only a weekend. We need a refund for lost days. Tucson traffic was too fast to practice driving. Also ignition key batteries did not work, or worked only for a short time. We could not open the doors easily. We wouldn't order a car from Alamo again. The agent in Tucson was friendly and tried to help, but simply did not have the car we had ordered.
