I did not have any issues getting my reservation or picking up the vehicle at the Ft. Myers airport in Florida and the counter staff were professional and friendly. But while at the destination I was visiting, my dads home in Port Charlotte Florida, my father passed away which meant I would be staying indefinitely and I had no one other than my 82 year old.mother to help me get the car back to the airport. As our country is currently experiencing a pandemic health crisis I was not about to risk her safety. After several hours on the phone over 2 days I was unable to find an alternative drop off location. Even though Thrifty, Dollar and Hertz are all under the same umbrella and there is a Hertz location where I was located in Port Charlotte I was told repeatedly there was absolutely no way I could turn the car in there. I ended up calling the Hertz corporate office and was told to contact their roadside service to dispatch AAA to tow the car back where it came from. I was told there would be no charge to me but that remains to be seen as I have not received the final accounting for the rental as yet. The level of stress and frustration I experienced spending time on hold, being shuffled from one department to another and given what I was told was local number to the rental counter at the airport only be dumped back into the 800 number customer service system was all while dealing with the death of my father was both unacceptable and unnecessary. I would be hard pressed to consider a Thrifty rental in the future and if I end up with a tow charge that I will spend more time and frustration to refute I will never be a Thrifty customer again.

Everything went very well. Th car was great, clean and handled well. The price is reasonable. Pick up and return were easy.
