I picked my car up two hours early and informed the pickup location that I would be returning the car within 24 hours. She said she would leave the drop off time the same so in case I ran into problems I would be covered. I expressed concern that I would be charged for the additional hours. She explained that as long as I returned the car within the 24 hour period, the original amount would be applied and the extra hours would not be charged. When I arrived at the drop off location within the 24 hours, the counter was closed with only key drop off as an option. I took a photo with the time in the rental garage as to verify the drop off time. There is no way beyond this to prove I had returned the vehicle in the allotted amount of time so I was charged (with additional tax, and fees) $36 over the original amount for a one day rental. I spent over three hours on hold on the phone with Thrifty and have yet to receive any response. Their website does not provide any real way to get in touch with their customer service and I have yet to actually receive the notification that the car has been logged back into their system.

I usually have a great experience with Thrifty but this last time I was charged a $400 cleaning fee & the car was super clean I didn't know what the charge was for until my credit card company called on 3 way. I was getting the run around & hung up on. All in all the charge was dropped. But it was an inconvenience.

Lady at dollar tried to upgrade me w fees without telling me it would cost until I asked her clearly how much more it would be, think she assumed I would just go along w what she was saying and charge me more for her own quota
