I needed a mini van for a visit from my daughter, husband and three small children. With the wife and I that makes seven, plus luggage. The Toyota Sienna was fabulous! We were all able to travel together to the zoo, Safari park, beach and sight seeing!

The only thing is the opening times, which are open until 6pm and have no postponement.

Was cheaper in taxes then at the airport and picking up in the South Bay a lot easier then at airport

First of all, we were so impressed with the car rental center at SD airport, starting with the regular shuttles, the facility itself and the easy pick up process.

Hertz was an easy pick up. They seemed to have the longest lines compared to the other rental companies but maybe they were going through a shift change or something. There was only 2 people working the counter then another man came to work the quick reservation pick up phone booth things. I went there because we had a reservation but he was only helping one at a time so I went back to the line. Another girl ended up jumping on to another system and helped us. However I did choose an car which was compared to a malibu or camry- but when I went to pick up, she told me my reservation was compact and charged me $10 more per day for the type of vehicle we were picking up. Had I not paid the extra fee, we were going to get something that looked like an egg. Other than the up charge and the wait all was good. The vehicle we got was a 2019 Kia Optima, and it ran like a champ. The drop off was super easy and the guy checking it back in was super friendly which was a plus at 4:30 in the morning.

Booked a compact, they were out of them, refused to upgrade us to a larger available car.

The car I had reserved was not available and I was given a different model it the same class. The car I received had warning lights active and was in pretty bad shape. I requested another vehicle but they would only give me a smaller car so I took the junker. The office attendant (I believe she was a supervisor) was very short and not interested in customer service. The car drove ok but was not so great. I’ll look elsewhere next time.

Great price for being only a couple blocks off of the beaten path from the regular airport location.

So they gave me an awful vehicle, and I had yo wait for that
