I booked a car to pick up at a Boston airport, not knowing there was a private airport besides Logan. I called Hertz on the day I was to pick the car up to ask if it would be possible to pick it up at Logan or some other Boston area Hertz closer to where I was, and was told that Hertz was all sold out all over the city. Then the rep said that the airport Hertz I had booked and prepaid didn't allow walk ins as it was private, and that she'd have to cancel the reservation - for a $250 fee cancellation fee. So, I paid for it, but I cannot go get the car AND I have to pay a cancellation fee? Yes, she assured me. I asked her to please just leave the reservation alone, paid an Uber $40 to get to the private airport, walked in and got my car. Someone needs to let the Hertz reps know what they are talking about with regard to this private airport!

We got an upgrade but only because the car we ordered was not available. So thanks I guess? The car we got was nice but extremely dirty. But that's not our main problem, we were charged with so many hidden fees, such as concession fee, vehicle licensing cost recovery, energy surcharge and another tax? We thought we already paid tax with car rentals. So we ended up paying twice the amount we paid with carrentals. Not happy at all.
