The rental pickup is not at the airport but rather a train ride and then a shuttle ride away. Shuttles run every 20 mins unless the driver is on break which happened with us and we waited 40 mins. Once we got there they only had one person at the counter and that took another 40 mins. Finally a second person arrived and helped us. We had purchased insurance through the booking site and the person tried telling us that it isn’t that useful. We have insurance at home which covers car rentals so the extra insurance we both was just for our peace of mind of not having to deal with any hassle. The person kept trying to upsell a more expensive insurance until I told him we were getting late so just give us the keys so we can be on our way. They also try to sell you the toll quick pass which we didn’t need at all for where we were going. So buyer beware know the routes in advance so you don’t get talked into buying a toll pass. Most GPS’s do have a skip toll roads option anyways. Overall I had a bad experience with this pick up location and wouldn’t recommend it if you are in a rush out of San Francisco.

Their lack of desk personnel had us wait over 45 mins for a 5-10 mins paperwork process. We were also charged with shuttle fees and other state taxes which were not stated up front nor on carrentals.com.

Very poor customer service, even the manager was the worst when I told him the problem, I am in minority and made me the impression that they discriminating me that is why they are not providing the excellent customer service. They even broke me to the tears and nervous break down. I rented a car for a month and the break was noisy and I had to go back twice as I mentioned I will be travelling 500 miles and do not feel safe but they still refused to exchange with another car and they said I have to pay more for the same calss. Never again I will rent from this place nor recommend to others.

The pick-up spot is outside the airport. There is a shuttle called "free" - fee is on the check out notice. The final price got 4 times (!) higher that the one stated by the carentals.com due to additional fees.

Off airport shuttle runs about every half hour after you get yourself to the rental car center. So this will take you longer to get out and then back to the airport. At their location, everything was fast and smooth.
