There were a number of issues that have become apparent related to the vehicle rented. To start with the positive, we were delighted by the check-in service provided by the Sixt agent who helped us on Sunday morning — and was extremely courteous and attentive while dealing with delays in preparing our vehicle. This was an example of customer service at its best. However, we were distressed to quickly realize after driving off from the SIXT depo that the vehicle we were designated had not been cleaned in accordance with your Premium Cleaning Standard — a commitment that was pivotal in our choice to rent from SIXT in the context of the current coronavirus pandemic. Specifically: — Dirt was visible on both front seats and the across the dashboard, console and steering wheel. The the passenger side door panel also had several stains from liquids that had not been cleaned. As a result, partner and I had to spend considerable time wiping the car down with disinfectant wipes at the first available opportunity. This was particularly distressing, given the risks of COVID-19 infection from surface contamination. — Earlier today, we also found a discarded container (seeming containing herbal medical products) under the front passenger seat and an (unknown) tablet lodged next to the floor mat in one of the rear seats. The latter seems particularly dangerous and, again, is a clear indication that basic elements of the Premium Cleaning Standard was in no way honored in the case of our rental. In the best of times, receiving a vehicle in such a condition would be extremely disappointing; in the current circumstances, simply put, it seems nothing short of reckless and suggests that SIXT’s stated commitment to maintain “the highest standards of safety and cleanliness in the industry“ is nothing more that an empty PR exercise. I would appreciate your response on the above mentioned issues at your earliest convenience. I am at a loss to rationalize how there could possibly be such a discrepancy between a headline policy of the company and its operations — but would appreciate your clarification on whether we may have misunderstood the policy, before considering further action. In price, this was the best deal by far comparing it to many other companies online. Service was amazing, Bryce at the counter was so helpful and patient. The pick up and drop off was so fast and easy.

Information from one agent to another was totally inconsistent. Where to return after hours, whether I needed a transponder or not (was told one was in vehicle, it was not, went back to desk, was told by a different agent that I didn't need one... but I paid for it and the people ahead of me had the same problem and they stopped by the desk and were given one). My car wasn't ready; had to take the elevator to the 6th floor to obtain from the returns section, with my luggage. I rented from here a few weeks ago and it was the same thing. Nice cars, some agents are nice/some are rough but overall NOT a seamless experience for the customer.
