I picked up my rental on Thursday morning at 10:00am. The person who checked me in was a bit rude as he tried to get me in a compact car because he had no full size vehicles available according to him. He finally offered me a VW Passat. I agreed to renting this vehicle. I go to where the vehicle was parked and I start to inspect it when I noticed that the car had quite a bit of damage all around the vehicle. I went back inside to inform him of the damages that were not even reported on their inspection log and he told me that he wasn’t going to go take a look at the car. He told me to write all damages on their inspection paper or to look for someone who was supposed to be at the booth outside. I told him I was not comfortable doing this as the car had extensive visible damage. I ended up with the car and he eventually came out to attend someone else and I seized the opportunity to have him go through an inspection and log it with his initial. Poor customer service. First time renting from Avis and probably the last. I rent cars quite a bit from other agencies and I know they would never have had a vehicle in such poor conditions go out on the road. I also took a detailed video 15 minutes when I got to my home for my personal protection.

No problems, very quick, friendly. Did not get usual pressure to add insurance.

it was very late and after a 12 hour day (delayed flights, bad weather, etc.)...it was nice to see a smiling face greet us and also worried the office may be closed, and we would not have a car...but not the case....at 11pm we were off and driving our sweet rental car... thanks so much...we always go with Avis, by the way...
