No problems, very quick, friendly. Did not get usual pressure to add insurance.

it was very late and after a 12 hour day (delayed flights, bad weather, etc.)...it was nice to see a smiling face greet us and also worried the office may be closed, and we would not have a car...but not the case....at 11pm we were off and driving our sweet rental car... thanks so much...we always go with Avis, by the way...

My pick up location was an hour away from home and 15 minutes from my work. I got a ride into work from a co-worker and a ride from work to Avis from a rideshare ($30). Not until I went to the rental counter did I see anything about a Credit Card requirement policy. TO RENT A CAR YOU NEED TO HAVE A CREDIT CARD. NOT a debit/credit card, NOT cash, HAS to be in the renter's name, HAS to be physically present with the renter at the time of pickup. There are NO exceptions or other options unless you had a return itinerary (flight or bus ticket). So, I had to wait an hour for my wife to drive me my credit card that we rarely use (God forbid someone doesn't have a credit card). My issue is not necessarily with the policy itself I suppose. My problem with it is that there was ZERO heads up and Avis confirmed that there is not an indication of this policy apparent on the rental agreement. The car was great and had no issues except it was due for an oil change. Drop off was quick and easy.
