Easy pickup and drop off, clean (new) car. Only downside? License plate was just stuck inside the back window, and the police stopped me and threatened a $300 citation for a non-visible plate. Warning instead, thankfully.

As I booked my rental online, and that paperwork told me debit cards were accepted as payment, I went to New Bern airport to pick up the rental. I was then told that debit cards were NOT accepted at this location, and I had to go to another location. Meanwhile I had been dropped of and had no ride to the next location. I was then told that in order to use my debit card I would have to have a utility bill (as I always carry one of those with me) and my auto insurance card (I was dropped off) in order to complete the rental. Simple point is - when booking online this information should be up front and center. I managed to get to the other location, where the rental cost me three times as much as my online reservation, and thank goodness for technology, I was able to use pictures of the utility bill & insurance card. That location (Dr. Martin Luthur King Blvd Enterprise) worked very hard to make this reservation work. The Alamo in the airport, those folks basically said they couldnt help me then stared at me like I was sort of some species of oogy bug.

What age do you have to be to rent a car in Buenos Aires?

Usually, the age limit for renting a car in Buenos Aires is 21—the same as it is across most of the country. However, you might need to pay a surcharge if you're under 25. Be sure to read the rental agreement to discover what the total will be before you book your rental.

Although many major card issuers, like American Express or MasterCard, provide some insurance, there are usually restrictions. For example, they may not cover your rental car if you get a larger or luxury vehicle. Check your rental car company's policy before you decide.
