As I booked my rental online, and that paperwork told me debit cards were accepted as payment, I went to New Bern airport to pick up the rental. I was then told that debit cards were NOT accepted at this location, and I had to go to another location. Meanwhile I had been dropped of and had no ride to the next location. I was then told that in order to use my debit card I would have to have a utility bill (as I always carry one of those with me) and my auto insurance card (I was dropped off) in order to complete the rental. Simple point is - when booking online this information should be up front and center. I managed to get to the other location, where the rental cost me three times as much as my online reservation, and thank goodness for technology, I was able to use pictures of the utility bill & insurance card. That location (Dr. Martin Luthur King Blvd Enterprise) worked very hard to make this reservation work. The Alamo in the airport, those folks basically said they couldnt help me then stared at me like I was sort of some species of oogy bug.

Where do I locate the most affordable car rental company at Buenos Aires Airport?

CarRentals.com can help you plan how you'll be getting around on your trip to Buenos Aires. You can figure out which car you'll need well ahead of your arrival, and make certain you get the best price from the rental company. Looking to keep your cost down? Try to:

  • Compare and contrast the rates for a few suppliers on the type of car you want
  • Determine what vehicle you'll need for your drive. Don't get more car then you need
  • Check the mileage and fuel policies. You don't want to be surprised with any added costs

Do I have to be a certain age to rent a car in Buenos Aires?

You can rent an automobile in Buenos Aires if you are at least 21. Be aware that commonly you'll be charged an added fee if you are under 25. Moreover, if you plan to rent a higher category vehicle (premium, large capacity, SUV, etc.) there may be further age restrictions. Check with the rental car company before you book.

What rental car companies have counters at Buenos Aires Airport?

There are several at the Buenos Aires Airport. You'll find top-rated car rental suppliers that are ready and waiting to serve those arriving at Buenos Aires Airport.

Is insurance necessary for Buenos Aires car rentals?

In Buenos Aires you do need to have insurance before you rent. Many of the major credit card issuers (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover) typically offer coverage. However, they typically have restrictions, such as not covering bigger vehicles, like premium models or some SUVs. Make sure to find out by calling your credit card company to find out what kind of coverage is offered before you head to Buenos Aires. Additionally, you can add on Collision Damage Coverage through CarRentals.com at checkout if you are a United States citizen.

What forms of identification do I need to bring picking up my car?

You'll need to carry with you your credit card, as well as your driver's license.

Do I need to return my car rental with a full tank?

We suggest a full tank policy. You receive the car topped off. However, if you return the rental with less fuel than you began with, the company may charge a premium to top it off. If you want to keep your expenses lower, fill up your tank before you return the car.

Why should I get unlimited miles?

Buenos Aires certainly has its charms, but unlimited miles means you have unlimited options of where to go and what to see after you have checked off all the hot spots in Buenos Aires. If you have your heart set on seeing as much as you can, you'll need to be worry-free about your miles to see all you can during your visit.

Can I get a one-way rental for my Buenos Aires trip?

The majority of suppliers offer one-way rentals in most cases. You may find it more convenient to drop off your rental car at another location. However, there is typically an added fee when you choose one-way.

What type of rental car would you recommend I get for my trip to Buenos Aires?

That depends on your needs and what activities you want to do in Buenos Aires. Compact or economy vehicles are easier to park and good for short commutes. If you are traveling with colleagues or family, then a sedan or SUV is going to have more room for everyone's bags and provide a more comfortable ride on longer commutes. Those looking for a little luxury on their Buenos Aires trip can choose a higher-end car model like a Mercedes C-Class or Cadillac XTS or similar.
