The Brooklyn Centre Hertz had a friendly desk clerk but the location was difficult to get to from the airport. We asked if we could return the car to a location closer to the airport and he said that was possible but would cost a fee. Worth the $20. After the paperwork was completed we were taken out to a car (he offered an SUV but since we were going to be making a trip south of the cities, we wanted a car that would get the best gas mileage). He got in the car and started it and took pictures of the outside and inside. After we were in the car and leaving the parking lot I began to look around the car and notice all the stains on the upholstery and for this reason I was very glad he took so many pictures because I did not want to be charged for the cleaning fee. Inside the vehicle also had a weird smell but nothing overpowering so I didn't think much of it. The next day, after the car had been sitting in the sun with all the windows rolled up, I opened the door to a very distinct marijuana smell. I do not know why Hertz is renting out vehicles that have not been detailed after the previous user but I was very disappointed that during my vacation I had to drive around with the windows down because the car I was given by the rental company was so smelly. When I rent a car, I expect a clean car and I don't think that is too much to ask for. The location that I dropped the car off did not want to hear my complaint about the condition of the car and directed me to the location where I picked up the car. I have called them twice and the phone just rings, no one answers, so I guess this review will have to do.

The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable, which is a huge plus for me. They explained everything so I could understand easily. I am happy and will certainly rent from them again.
