Problem, I had platinum American Express Card with a letter from AX stating that I was covered with insurance in Cabo. They still insisted that I buy collision or liability Insurance act a rip off price that was as much as the car rental itself. I have my own insurance and Ax insurance. UnfortunatelyI I will no longer rent from Alamo which I and many of my friends have used many times thru out the years.

My flight coming into Cabo was late. By the time I arrived to the rental counter it was after the posted closing time. The person waited for us to pick up our car. He was courteous and very helpful

TPL (Third Party Liability) Insurance. look into this before you rent in Mexico in General. Problem was, we were not aware and when we inquired to talk to Alamo's customer service dept, they gave us a bit of a lower price instead which lead me to believe this was all a scam. However, we were hitting the 1 hour mark after arriving to the Alamo station and were hungry. Where else were we to go? All I'm suggesting is do your homework and give these guys a FIRM NO if your own insurance company covers this. We ended up paying $27/per day extra for the TPL. I originally rented from Carrental.com ($5/day) bought insurance coverage from Allianze ($9/day) - Both Carrental.com & Allianze were great. It was Alamo that you have to worry about.
