MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE BUSINESS WAS FANTASTIC, BUT they don't tell you about the EZ-pass toll administrative fees. Everytime i went thru a toll in PA, MD, and Va, I was charged the toll, and $15.00 fee for each one, and if thrifty had told us we had 72 hours to pay it when we returned, we wouldn't have had to pay. Now I am stuck with BIG BILL for something that could have been avoided.

Got to the counter only to find a sign up out of cars. I was told to come back in an hour which I did. By that time they recycled some cars, I was issued s corolla and it seemed fine at first , about 100 miles away I started hearing what sounded like tire noise , so I pulled into a rest area to check the tires out and I had found the front bumper covet had detached from the passenger side of the car? So I snapped it back on and drove a few more miles to the nearest exit with services and called the rental counter to report the floppy cover. They suggested I try to get the car to the nearest thrifty ( about 70 miles behind me ) or just ride it for a while and see if it comes loose again then call roadside assistance if it became problematic. So I decided to continue with my cross country trip hopping for the best. I gassed it up and it was still attached but at any given time with a mind of its own it would peel free . I stopped about 8 hours into my trip for a coffee break at 12:20 am in the middle of nowhere and upon leaving the gas station I sprung open the key from its concealed position and the keyfob self destructed sending the metal ignition key into the air and onto the gas station parking lot about 4 feet away. Luckily a kind county sheriff was just stepping out of his car and saw what was what and mcguyvered the fob and key back together with a paper clip ( that fix lasted 6000 miles). I returned the car 3 days early and received a 25 dollar credit rather than a 3 day credit. I changed the oil and did receive a credit for what I spent on that. Although there was a bit of a dispute on how soon I should change the oil. . Window sticker said about 2000 miles from the dash mileage , counter said don’t worry about changing the oil for 5000-7000 more miles. I changed it when the oil service light kicked on at about 2500 miles away from the counter . And the oil was changing color on the dipstick. Other wise that corolla consistently got mpg in the mid 40s across most of America except into headwinds then it still got mid to high 30s. So it’s pretty efficient on gas.

This location closes at 7:00pm on the day that I arrived, however my flight was not scheduled to arrive until 6:58pm. I called them and the manager Linda arranged for someone to stay later so that I would be able to pickup my car.
