Rental cars at Forbes Field Airport

Car was ready when I arrived and even was an unexpected upgrade.

Easy to pickup..easy to drop off..just made it easy

everything was fine except the guy who we got the car from didn't have good customer service skills he wasn't rude but he wasn't nice or friendly either. he seemed bothered and acted like he didn't really want to be there.

As much as I try to be accepting, the service from this location was not good. I dont know if its from AVIS or CARRENTALS.COM but as soon as I made my reservation, I had someone charge my card for $54 for insurance and not AVIS or CARRENTALS wanted to help me with it. The AVIS guy at the counter simply told me to just deal with it on my own. Then AFTER returning the car, AVIS charged me an additional $49 which was not on the receipt and nowhere to be found that I owe them - I had to get my bank to refund it! It was just fraudulent and then another 4 transactions on the same card from somewhere in Berlin and other places - as if someone stole the card - I had to get a new card. Then, the car heated up my charged and it exploded and doesnt work anymore - We got charged extra $$$ for asking for another day, which hasn't happened to me with other rental companies. The car was okay... missing fluids and oil, but it worked well. I dont consider it to be a great deal - it wouldn't connect to our phones, it has no AUX cable - and I ended up paying $45 a day for it, without ANY insurance. I can tell you that I will NEVER rent a car from AVIS again. Especially not in Topeka.

The store associate was very kind and courteous. But we were almost stranded because I had lost my wallet and Avis is behind in technology. I helped my mother move from NY to KS. I drove a truck out and needed to rent a car to get to the airport and fly home. Along the way I lost my wallet. I have my drivers license on my phone. I also have Apple Pay, PayPal and Facebook messenger pay on my phone. Avis wouldn’t accept any of this, and I would have been stranded Half way across country if my sister didn’t already live there. She rented the car for me. I used PayPal to pay and tip my sis. The car was a beautiful mustang for only $55 per day. It was the first time I ever drove something like that. The mustang and kind employee are what elevates this rating to a 3.

It was a easy pick up but the vehicle was dirty inside and out and I pointed this out to the manager.. and I did tell him I will not clean this vehicle before I bring back..

The gentleman who works at Avis is always so nice. And I have enjoyed driving my rental cars — always very clean and in great condition.
