The car was relatively new and clean with few scratches on the front and rear bumper, upon dropping the car one of the staff members accused us of causing a new scratch on the front bumper, the scratch did not look new as the surfaces were smooth and it looked as if the car was washed multiple times after the scratch, however the staff were not convinced. The markings on the paper were not clear and who ever did the markings was not very accurate in marking the locations of the scratches, as we had a picture of the scratches on the car when we picked it we proofed to them that we did not cause any new ones. Questioning the integrity and honesty of customers is not something that should be taken lightly we could have escalated the issue to consumer protection, as we were going to be charged for a damage that we did not cause.

First of all reservation process and rate of rental was great from carrentals. Rental company EuropCar however was not as simple. Car booked was VW Jetta but it was not available instead we got a Mazda 6 but it was not that well maintained and there was no other option. Also while picking up the car any scratch mentioned by you is told by staff is no big deal but when u return they look at the car with so much detail as if there’s some illegal stuff in it. Very unproffessional compare to rest of the modern world in terms of ease of renting a car. Paperwork in Dubai is extensive and even though most of the world now accepts Indian license (as long as in all English) Dubai still refuses to acknowledge it without IDP they need to know if someone can drive in India they can drive anywhere in the world... and also all public taxis in Dubai are driven by Indians n Pakistanis.... also most tourists in Dubai seems to be Indians only
