The cost was twice as much as the quoted amount. I was also not given the car I selected. This was the worst car rental experience.

The rental process was horrible. I reserved for a car for three days, for about $100 total. When I arrived at the time of pickup, the agent was not there because he was at the bank. He took an hour to arrive. When he arrived, and I asked to decline the insurance, he said he could not get rid of it. I talked to Budget corporate, and Budget regional for over an hour and they were not able to help. I had to pay $150 for the three days even though the reservation was for $100. I said I would return the car the third day at 8pm at another location. The agent very nicely said that I could return it up to 10pm. I asked specifically if the other location would be open, and he confirmed. When I arrived at 7 to the location where I was to drop off, it was closed!!!! I was made to drive 30 min to the closest airport to drop it off. And with that, I had to pay for the taxi for the way back. The car looked like it had gone to a war zone and back a few times. every single panel was dinged, and even the roof looked like a group of tap dancers had had a recital on it. Fortunately it did not give me problems. Horrible service.

When I picked up, they offered me an insurance that was outrageously expensive (about $500 US dollars for my 10 day trip, just the insurance alone). When I hesitated, they then told me to cancel my reservation and that they will offer me a least expensive option. When I returned the car and did a walkthrough the representative told me that there was a dent in the car (I am sure that it was there before) and that they will charge my credit card $1500 US dollars or I could give him 600 pesos cash and he will have it fixed. I was beyond upset but felt that I had no choice but to give him the 600 pesos (about $35 US) cash.
