I recently rented from the palm springs airport and the experience was the worst I have had and I rent frequently from enterprise. when I picked up the car the lady gave me the keys and I went out to the car. The area at night is very dark but the car looked ok so I took it. Nobody came to inspect with me which was unusual but I went along with it. I got to my room and the hotel had better lighting so i walked around and noticed a large scratch on the side. I immediately contacted the location and they were good. they noted it as I did not want to be blamed for the scratch. I also noted that I went to put my gps in the glove box and found a bunch of parking receipts an old itineraries from the last renter. No big deal but they missed cleaning it. A couple days later the check oil engine light comes on. Not a big deal again but another issue. Then the real big issues came in. I was in northern california and switching hotels and went to put the bags in the trunk and noticed the plate had a 2017 tag. so I went into glove box and found the insurance. it was over 7 months expired. that is just unacceptable. so for the next 2 days I am trying to avoid cops and hoping that I have no ticket or get towed every time I stopped. My family and I then had to a take a day out of our vacation to back track to palm springs to return the car for a new one. The guy who checks the car when you return them couldnt believe the plates and chuckled about it and was a nice guy however the girl at the counter could have cared less. I was given a 2nd car which was a good car but the lack of inspections on the cars they are renting is alarming.

My experience with ENTERPRISE RENT-A-CAR Company at the Palm Springs International Airport was horrible!!! Instead of Enterprise charging the total amount of $67.83 they billed my credit card for a WHOPPING $575.53. Very un-American!!!

We were worried that we'd have trouble picking up our car, as we were arriving a day later than expected in San Juan, Argentina, don't speak Spanish very well, only had a phone number to work with for Budget in San Juan, could not change the rental dates via, and all cars in the area had been rented long ago for the total eclipse. But with the help of a friendly hotel staffer who called Budget on our behalf to change the date, and a friendly Budget staff member who spoke English when we arrived at the airport, all went smoothly. Budget was very apologetic that they had only a hatchback instead of a car with a trunk, but we were just so happy to have a car at all that we did not mind. The car - a Toyota six-speed - was easy to drive and got great gas mileage. No complaints at all about Budget, though the made it quite challenging to make changes to our pick-up date when our travel plans went awry.
