I had booked reservation at least a few months in advance. I even recieved reminder email of my reservation. What I cant understand, is the vendor Alamo knows about the reservation - we even prepaid for the car insurance, and yet when we arrive to pick up our reserved car they don't have one for us. They say car rental.com allowed more reservations then they had cars. How does that happen? This is the 2nd time now. I am losing trust in car rentals .com!!!!

The staff working at Alamo are thieves. Worst service ever. Don’t rent from these people. I had a reservation and when they asked me to get their insurance policy, I told them that my credit card covers for it. The staff then said that they didn’t have any vehicles available. They want people to get their insurance by force. Don’t rent from them.

We have rented with Fox several times in the past without any issues and feeling satisfied after the experience. However, this time in the Dominican Republic was horrible for us. First, lots of charges were added onto the rental fee which made the rental 4 times more than we expected! Second, the woman insisted that she had to put a $2,500 hold on the credit card. When I expressed that was much more and I felt very uncomfortable with that- her reply was we can drive you back to the airport. What??. The car we were given was the same car they used to pick us up from the airport. It was damaged and not professionally up to par. The worst is they gave us the car with NO gas! Our vacation started with having to drive around in an unfamiliar country that speaks a different language hoping to find gas before we ran out. This was incredibly stressful for us and I never want to repeate it again. This FOX rental car place should be closed.

Not a good experience, upon receiving the car I was presented with an additional payment of 258.00 dollars for a liability insurance although I had purchase the additional insurance through alliance group. I’m very disappointed in the surprise of a payment of more than the actual rental

Couldn’t reach them because of power outage. So a little confusion on pickup. Had to take a cab there, without knowing what’s happening. After that they were great. Staff professional and courteous. Car was clean and compfortable.

The entire experience was horrendous. I travel to DR a lot and this experience isn’t isolated to Europcar. Be sure to have a letter from your credit card if you have car rental coverage-and wanting time decline insurance from the rental company. They of course want to charge you anywhere from 9-12$ per day if you don’t have this letter.

This was terrible. They had zero cars available. He said “yes I see your reservation, please see my friend at the other rental agency for a car.” It was quite obvious he was getting a kickback. Europcar should pull their franchise from them.
