at inverness, I was told that they held the car all day (original time was 10am, but it was 3:30pm. some named Armando? had assured me they were expecting me at 4:30pm). so it wasn't a good exchange. then I was told that since I wasn't American, it would cost quite a deal more. again, did I get any warning from CarRentals? NONE!

Had a little difficulties with finding a pick up spot in Inverness airport (Google maps shows spot on outside parking, which by the time I arrived (22:00 was closed). Thankfully, my friend found it out so we succeeded with rental, but was nervous cause it was near closing time.

The lady at the desk in Inverness was very friendly and helpful to us. She referred us to another gentleman because the model of car we had chosen was not available, and the substitute car on hand did not have enough room for our four bags. I had done a quick check of luggage space on the Hyundai Tucson and thought it would work. That was understandable. But the only vehicle that they offered to us that had four seats and could carry four bags was over twice the price. It was tremendously expensive. Also, the gentleman we finalized the booking with told us that our State Farm insurance would not cover us internationally, only domestically. It worried me enough that I purchased the coverage he offered. Well, his statement wasn't true. I was actually double covered by State Farm, Signature Visa and then a third time with the coverage from Budget. This added to the unexpected extra expense.
I will not use Budget in the future. I'll rent from the others who have given me no surprises or disappointments in the past.
