After returning the car, Hertz (why Hertz ??? I would like to know) sent me an invoice 30 euros extra (by email) for an extra day while I returned the car a day before and for a border crossing when I did not pass. So account debits without having had time to contest. Frankly not correct.

We reserved a car for 4 days. We called on the spot to be sure that the car had snow tires, we were certified that it was. Once there, the category we had chosen had no snow tires, which meant that there was a surplus of 80 euros ... Shame next time I will take the shuttle, it will cost me less.

Pickup in no problem. Right at the station. Golf size ordered. Touran automatic received. Unfortunately totally dirty inside and outside. That is the only thing that is to complain about.

Driving in a new and unfamiliar country can be daunting for some travelers, but you don't have to stress. Get up to date on the following facts and you'll be guiding your rental car along the roads of Switzerland before you know it. Just one of the countries located in Europe, Switzerland has loads to offer every sort of traveler. No trip here could be considered complete without swinging by the national capital, Bern.
A good road trip starts with an affordable rental car — as well as a few spectacular sights along the way! We've got the details on a few Switzerland attractions that absolutely beg for a pit stop. Load up the car and head toward Messeturm Basel. You'll find this crowd-pleaser 1 mile from the notable city of Basel. From there, fill up the gas tank and find out why so many people visit Bundeshaus (Swiss Parliament). This awesome sight is 0.1 miles from Bern and just waiting to be ticked off your list.
Switzerland is an exciting place to hit the highways in your own set of wheels. Crank up the radio and enjoy the freedom of visiting all the region's treasures dotted between each of its top destinations. Try to squeeze in as many of this place's leading destinations as possible:
Here are some of our top tips if you want to grab the best price on a car rental:
Bigger doesn't always mean better, and that's especially true in the case of your wheels. In Switzerland, compact cars are the most commonly booked rental vehicle for a good reason. Impressive gas mileage, zippier handling, and more environmentally friendly are only the start! If you're planning to drive in Canton of Zurich or Basel, book something that's compact and zippy.
It's always good to escape the city, and if you do, you'll be richly rewarded. With mountains, lakes, and rivers to explore, Switzerland is ripe for exciting day trips. A bigger vehicle like an SUV or a four-wheel drive will give you and the family more room to move for those long, leisurely drives.
Sometimes it's all about the journey, which makes choosing the right car important. If you're about to embark on an amazing road trip around Switzerland, a safe and sturdy SUV could be the answer. If you're looking for the cheapest possible price and plan to stick to city driving, a budget compact is a wise pick. All you have to do is decide what's the best fit, round up the troops, and rack up those miles.
