I was clearly told at the counter that the car would not be released to me unless I paid additional charges amounting to an extra $400. I had already paid for full coverage from Allianz prior to the rental. These were presented to me as required charges. This is fraud. I was also told that there was no other option unlesss I waited an additional at least three hours at the airport for a different car, despite that I had booked SIXT roulette. Sixt customer service maintained I voluntarily accepted these charges.

The counter agent refused to give us the car that we reserved on the basis that we did not fill in the flight number, even though he could see and confirm my reservation with a purchased insurance. After much argument and escalation he gave us a car ina lower category with higher price. We could not fit our luggage properly in the car. What good is advertised deals if they are not honored by the carrier. Never again, this is not what you need at the end of a 16 hour flight. Filed a report with Carrental.com, haven’t heard back.

Long wait time at check in (1 hour at the airport although we had reserved in advance!); Otherwise good service (friendly) and check-out went great (very fast)
