If your trip to Armidale is all organized but your travel itinerary is looking a bit empty, we can give you a few hints and tips.
Not far from the heart of the city, Armidale Tourist Information is one spot you might like to consider putting on your must-see list. Armidale Plaza Shopping Centre and Oxley Wild RIvers Nationalpark are also close by and worth a pit stop.
With some awesome day trip options in the surrounding area, renting a car makes sense. Without one, it'd be much more difficult to experience everything that Tamworth, 62 miles away, has to offer. Soak up the sights starting with Big Golden Guitar Tourist Centre, Tamworth Capitol Theatre and Longyard Golf Course. The locals will also likely point you in the direction of Inverell, 62 miles away. If you only see one attraction here, let it be Sinclair Park. (But we're also big fans of Inverell and District Memorial Olympic Pool and Inverell Racecourse.)
Avoid paying an arm and a leg for a rental car by following our recommendations:
Having your own wheels in Armidale will give you more flexibility to squeeze in as many attractions as you can. Maybe you're eager to skip town, hit the highway, and see where the wind takes you. If so, pick up one of our full-size or mid-size SUVs and take in the sandy shores in the area. If you just can't get enough of the bright lights of the city, take to the wheel of something small. Zooming around busy streets and traffic will be much less stressful with a mini or compact car.
You'll be pleased to hear that there's a wide variety of both economy and luxury rental vehicles available in Armidale. What you go with will depend on your budget and what you're planning to do. Prestige vehicles offer the best in mod cons and comfort. If you want to treat yourself, why not pick an elite SUV, or perhaps a slick medium-sized sedan? Alternatively, if you just need something to get you from A to B as economically as possible, you're better off choosing a no-frills compact vehicle (or something else that won't break the bank).
