We arrived after a long 24 hour journey to the Hertz desk and the agent immediately said we had opted out for insurance. I pulled up my confirmation from Allianz that we did indeed purchase. The agent then said that the cost was going to be $419.05, we were quoted $156.63. She then assured us that was part of the deposit that would be deducted once we returned the car. Jet lagged and tired we signed and left with the car. Once we had a good nights sleep I looked everything over to realize that we were charged an extra $152.00 for super cover along with a drop charge as well as other taxes. Not what we had signed up for from the booking! I immediately wrote asking for help.So far they've refunded the $45.00 insurance that was cancelled as well as the drop off fee. The difference from what we ended up paying $419.05 and the quoted price $156.63 is $262.42. I was told yesterday from Luis a supervisor that I would have to go after Hertz for the insurance coverage money.. Does not seem right considering that I have to chase Hertz down!
