My experience is catastrophic, I could not take the car because debit card and they forced me to take insurance. To avoid absolutely.

Counter was closed on arrival, after calling we had to go to the other corner of the airport. 15 minutes walk and good search! Then there was 1 person for us. Have to wait 20 minutes. Then another employee came in. All data had to be entered again, they had not taken anything from CarDelMar. This took a very long time, data also appeared to have been incorrectly copied. This was followed by a fervent argument about how bad the insurance was that we had taken out, and that we really had to upgrade. After having indicated about 5 times that they were not interested and had to listen to all kinds of threats about costs for road assist, broken tires, damage etc ... etc ..., the whole story was shortened. With the grumpy face of the desk clerk then he must sign as many as 20 pages, all of which were written in Turkish. The English translation (at least I assume), was given, but since we had been busy for more than an hour, the sense to read through it was far away. It took 1.5 hours in all. My 3 year old daughter couldn't bear it anymore, even after all the waiting during the trip. Eventually picking up the car went very smoothly. Due to all the threats and warnings, the sense of driving a car was completely gone, and we only drove to the hotel and back to the airport. For the rest taxis caught. Traffic in Turkey is also quite chaotic, traffic rules are there but are not being complied with, you have to be able to anticipate this otherwise it will certainly go wrong. I never rent a car in turkey any more, and in general no longer with Golcar all over the world, what a messy company that is!

I had the obligation to pay extra insurance, namely that my mastercard was a debit card and not credit which apparently prevent them from blocking the bond This specification is not indicated anywhere in the contract autoscape. I paid this extra insurance of € 210 even though I had already taken full protection. We had no choice but to pay on pain of not having a vehicle
