My experience was average with Hertz. It took a VERY long time to pick up the car with angry customers jumping the queue and shouting at the staff. Our car was not available to pick up after speaking with staff at the counter and we had to wait for it to be cleaned. The vehicle itself was in good condition and was reliable throughout the rental period. Drop off was easy.

I found out at the rental office that my reservation didn't include any excess limit - i.e. I was responsible for the entire value of the car, £10,000 without limitations. I had to purchase the basic insurance which is normally alway included in the package. But I guess this is CarRentals.com problem - hence I'll never use the website ever again. Hertz on their side... well, take a book with you. It took me 40'+ to get my car. There were 2 other customers in the office. And I got a car which was not the category I had selected and which had not been cleaned.
