We were expected at the exit of the baggage area with a sign in our name. A meticulous point of the condition of the vehicle, the signing of the contract, and the vehicle was at our disposal in front of the terminal. Ditto for restitution, in front of the terminal, at the appointed time.

Where is Malaysia?

Malaysia is waiting for you. There's no end to the new adventures and experiences you'll be able to have once you climb into the driver's seat of that rental car. To get everything you can out of your trip, here are a few basics that everyone should know. One of the countries located in Asia, Malaysia has loads to offer every type of traveler. No trip here would be complete without stopping by the nation's capital, Kuala Lumpur.

What are the major attractions in Malaysia?

A good road trip starts with a great rental car — as well as a variety of top sights en route! We've got some hints on a few Malaysia icons that simply demand a pit stop. Adjust your rearview mirror and get set to discover the delights of Shah Alam Blue Mosque. This landmark lures many adventurers just like you every year and is 12 miles from the prominent city of Kuala Lumpur. Put together the ultimate driving playlist and explore Batu Caves too. After you've cranked up those tunes, you'll find it 16 miles from the center of Batu.

What are the best road trip destinations in Malaysia?

With a wealth of glorious highways and inviting open roads, many travelers opt to turn their Malaysia vacations into driving getaways. If you're organizing an amazing road trip, you'll need to know which destinations are worthy of your bucket list. Get out and explore some (or all) of this place's most popular cities:

  • Kota Bharu (population of 1,460,000)
  • Kuala Lumpur (population of 1,454,000)
  • Klang (population of 879,900)
  • Johor Bahru (population of 802,500)

How can I get a cheap car rental in Malaysia?

We've put together a list of our top tips and tricks to help you keep more money in your pocket:

  • Keep your eyes on your inbox for our fantastic Price Drop Alert. We'll let you know about all the amazing bargains cruising around your next vacation destination;

  • Pickup and drop-off times typically need to be the same or very similar (e.g, both 9 a.m.) or you may be required to pay for another full day;
  • If you'd love to keep some extra cash in your pocket, pay as soon as you book and zoom off with some of the best rates around;
  • And finally, lock in your wheels as soon as you possibly can to grab yourself a load of savings!

What is the most popular rental car category in Malaysia?

Sometimes it's best to think small, particularly if you'll be cruising around the city streets of Kota Bharu and Kuala Lumpur. Economy rental cars are the number one pick for those visiting Malaysia — and there's loads to love about them. Zip around town easily, get fantastic gas mileage, and save on rental fees. These inexpensive small vehicles prove bigger doesn't always mean better!

That said, Malaysia is known for its rural landscapes, rainforests, and forests. Many eager adventurers get out of town to discover those picturesque vistas. If that sounds like something you'd be into, rent an SUV or a full-size vehicle. Even if you don't have plans to venture off the beaten track, you'll enjoy all that extra space.

Should I get a luxury rental car in Malaysia?

For some of us, owning a luxury vehicle may be a little out of reach. But renting your dream ride is certainly within your grasp! Picture yourself cruising into town in a classy sports car, even if it's only for a day or two. Or perhaps you're just after a trusty set of wheels to get you safely from A to B. Flashy or affordable? Either way, one thing's for sure — there's a rental car to suit you in Malaysia.
