Was assisted by Sandra S at the Montego Bay Airport location. She was amazing! I received a clean minivan which was perfect for me and the family. Thank you Island Car Rentals.

The customer service was terrible, When I picked up the car it had 1/4 tank of gas and I return it with 3/4 but the guy checking the car tried to tell me that I would be charged for the car having less gas. Then they triple charged me to fix a flat tire that I received while driving the car. The wheel bearing were going bad, the car was not a smooth drive and very hard to drive on the already poor roads in Jamaica. The customer service upon returning the car and trying to catch a flight was terrible, if I didn’t have another ride waiting on me outside I would have possible missed my flight. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

It took a long time to be picked from the airport to be taken to the rental office to pick up our car. The process is lengthy compared to others that I have done before. We got a reliable car that took us around. If your looking for a car on a low budget and done mind the wait this is the company for you. Mind you we had 2 kids with us and that didn’t help speed up the process at all.

When I went to pick up. They were going to add another $100 as I did not have the right visa. I had purchased car insurance and the company said they were not going to honor that. I did not end up taking car. Very disappointed.

Very disappointed with the upkeep of thrifty’s cars. I rented the base model car and had to pay more to get a car that looked presentable to drive to a wedding. I would consider myself a humble person but, when I saw the car that was pulled out for me I was very disappointed and disgusted with the look of the car. It looked like the car had been running in rally races in Jamaica. The amount of dents, scraps and cracks was embarrassing for the poor gentleman clear the car to leave. if thrifty’s wants to charge these types of rates then the cars need to look the part. I would only recommend this company because the staff is nice.

They made pick up torment, made it difficult not to take their insurance. I had to call credit card company and request a lot of stuff. $2000 deposit - preposterous. One other rental agency was $200 so $2000 is excess, I am sure this inconveniences a lot of other people and they have to take thrifty insurance. The customer ahead of us was unlucky he had to take the insurance because they did not accept his credit card letter. Worse location - Montego bay. The cars are poorly maintained which was confirmed by an employee. Got a flat tire and I put the donut on then the donut got flat after driving 1 km. Had to take a bus with the tire to a tire shop because they made it clear tires are my responsibility. The car jack was too big its clear it was not stock. It was crammed so tight in the jack location I almost broke my finger and damage the car trying to pry it out. The Jack was so hard to use, could hardly turn the handle. The cheapest of the cheap. No road side assistance either. I was suppose to pick up another car for another week. They tried to give me the same car but i would have rather walk so I took 3 taxis to get home and decided to rent from somewhere else after the weekend.
