I wish to share my catastrophic experience with this goldcar renter. My Visa Premier card has never been declined by a renter. All the formalities were fulfilled, I had refused to take out insurance advised by the person at the reception of an amount greater than that of the rental instead of the deposit. At the last moment, the renter claimed that he could not make a deposit on my visa card. The contract did not mention this condition. He offered me insurance at 200 euros, this amount being more expensive than the rental itself. Otherwise he wanted to collect 1400 euros and return them 15 to 20 days after the return. I presented my International Premier Visa card that works in all other agencies, but the renter could not make a deposit stating that the card was only debit. I have never encountered this problem. By changing agency I rented another vehicle with a Premier Visa card. In these circumstances, I made the decision to cancel this rental because the person I was dealing with was dishonest and did not seek a solution. He told me he did not know Autoescape when I presented the voucher. I filed a claim file with autoescape.
